I feel like such a nerd now! I'm glued to CNN and me and my friends debate about it all the time! hahaha. But I'm going with McCain. He wants us out of Iraq, which I support so I can see my cousin! He's also going to be enviromentally concious saying he won't drill for Oil in Alaska where it can be harmful to animals and such. He doesn't support Abortion, where as niether do I, however I don't believe it should be made illegal. The only circumstances I think a woman should get an abortion is if the pregnancy is life threatening to her. My dad had a patient from Ethiopia a couple years ago, she was raped and got an illegal abortion or she would have been stoned. Because it was illegal, the abortion was not sterile or safe, and after she came to the US she died due to an infection from the abortion. So, do I want abortion illegal? No, people will still do it and it will become hazardous. Do I want it discouraged more frequently? Absoloutly. I also do not support universal health care. They'll have to raise taxes to get money to support all these people, they'll also have to lower the wages of medical workers (like my father, a doctor) and times are hard enough as it is, and we're already juggling my sisters' college expenses among other things. Not to mention how insurance companies already cheat my father out of what he works for. And I really don't feel like waiting 3 yrs for a surgery I could have had much faster, because by then I may be dead. So Universal Health Care is a no-no on my list. I'm still not sure about my feelings on Gay Rights, though. Anyways, but those are just my feelings on some of the major issues.

On another note, are we gonna get a dicussion going about the new talent contest? I have a zillion questions.

Madison-So you're basically saying that you want the poor people to get poorer and the rich people to get richer? And that you're more important than poor people? You think YOUR family is having money troubles? I'm sure, as long as your dads a doctor, you will never know what it's like to have real money troubles.

I don't even think gay rights should be an issue. Who the hell are you to have any say in who dates who? You can't control who you're attracted to and neither can gays/lesbians.

The price of living is going up INCREASINGLY, look around you. Wages can't keep up with it for some people.

You just can't look at someone & see into their life.

Not all doctors are rich. There's different kinds of doctors, some doctors are poor & go to other places in the world to make other people's lives better for example. How could they be rich if they were freely giving of themselves?

Thank you, Ashlie. Seriously ya'll. You have no idea what my money situation is like. It's such a cliche idea to believe doctors are rich. If you add in taxes, and the child support my father has to pay for my half sisters(Which he actually pays because he is an honest man, unlike many fathers out there) and with their college, the equity line, and numerous other bills, you have NO IDEA. Not to mention how many insurance companies believe doctors suck at math, so they do cheat them out of much of their hard money earned. But you obviously wouldn't understand that, would you? Because the way you've stated things, you're parents aren't doctors, so you have no idea, but you automatically believe Im some rich spoiled brat! But I am not! I actually go out and find work myself so I have money and dont have to borrow from my parents cause I know they have a hard time. My father pays for four children, gets cheated out of what he works for, and with the Universal Health Care crap, he's gonna be even more cheated. Just look at the UK and other places with universal health care! Health there sucks, so how do you believe it's gonna work for us too!?!?! Hmm. Im still very insulted about how you assumed my family has no money problems, because you have no idea! Let's just say my chances at college are slim unless I have a scholarship. [Emma- houses in different parts of the country cost different prices. My mom & stepdad are moving to colorado, we have a big house, a little bigger than the one you have posted on your site before, in Virginia. They're buying a house FOUR TIMES the size, for half the price of the one we have now.

Madison-My dad isn't a doctor but I have family that is doctor and I have family that are nurses. You can't even compare me with how much money your dad has to spend. I am from Africa so my dad has to send money back home. TO MANY PEOPLE AT THAT. He has 2 sisters and a brother back there. One sister has 5 kids, the other has about 6-8. And the brother has 4 kids. He has to pay for their school stuff. He adopted a kid because her parents passed. She is back there with my little sister. He has to take care of them. There's alot more things he has to do but I don't feel like typing all of them

And there are a lot more things my father has to do. We all have problems, and things to pay for. And don't sterotype me because you've seen my house, that was bought 14 years ago, before all of our problems, and since then we're still borrowing against the house to pay for my sisters's education. I don't want to argue anymore, because I've mde the point I need to make. Things aren't easy for anyone. And stereo typing them isn't cool either cause you haven't walked in their shoes. One more thing I would like to say though is if we have all these problems, how will raising taxes for health care help us money wise?

Actually, it wont help us. I just thought about this. Instead of America trying to give money to 3rd world countries why don't they help them build their economy? Such as inforcing things like insurance that will actually pay for your hospital bills and not make you wait. There are things they could do without having us over here give our money

Uhm, Emma, when someone like Obama refers to Universal Health Care he means just citizens of this country. Not the world. America can't control the what other countries policies on Health Care is.

Think about illegal immigration. Obama wants to place no tight restrictions on it. McCain wants to do that & act drastically on the matter, because those people that are here illegally are taking away BILLIONS of tax money that could be spent on things like, well, better health care.


& what you just said reflected on the biggest things I want with this country:


tight restrictions on immigration, secure the borders, possible deportations [or that may be too extreme, I don't know how I feel about it].

But if we could HELP those countries, like Mexico, build their economy, create jobs, move all the factories from CHINA to places like that, we wouldn't have to worry about illegal immigration & all the money that is taken away from our citizens!

Sorry to bring this up again but I just wanted to clear up a few things.

So, after reading Ashlie's first comment, I was angry because instead of saying that McCain would be the best candidate, she said that Obama would be the worst. That rubbed me the wrong way because she could have said it a bit differently so that it would not be offending to Obama supporters. Then, reading Madison's comment made me think about the stress of having very little money (I know that alot of people are feeling the same way) and that always upsets me so I felt the need to get offensive. I did not intend to be such a jerk in my comment and I definitely did not intend to insult Madison or her family.

Ashlie- Yes, I was rude and I apologize but I kind of feel that now you are being just as rude.

First, I didn't give any reasons because I didn't want to get into it.

Second, I was not acting like my problems exceeded others. I WAS acting like Madison was acting like her families problems exceeded others which I know is actually not how she was acting. Does that make any sense? aha.

Third, I know that Madison said she was not sure about her thoughts on gay rights. When I said "who the hell are you...", I meant people that strongly think that there should be one man and one woman together, like McCain. That didn't have anything to do with anything Madison said. and I know how big of a controversy gay rights is. I clearly stated that I didn't think it should be such an issue. Meaning, I know its a problem but my opinion is that it should not be a problem.

Fourth, I did not feel the need to state every single reason why I think Obama should be our next president and I still don't feel the need. I don't know much about Obama, McCain, and the election and I have ALOT more research to do before I'm on your level lol but I know enough to have my own opinion.

Fifth, I know not all doctors make millions & millions of dollars but they make enough to survive. Yes, some might have difficulties (especially now) but compared to others, they should feel fortunate.

Again, sorry to bring it up...again.

Thanks Nicole! I see you really understand how things are. It's not that I'm so much mad at you, just tired of always being stereo typed for being a doctors daughter. In the end, anybody with a job is gonna make it through, whatever happens. Yes, it could be worse, but can you blame people for wanting to strive to make it better, have as little worries as possible? It's merely human nature, and I just feel McCain as president would help those worries, as Obama would just make them worse. But really thanks for being understanding Nicole, it really shows your maturity.

Yah, and trust me. i know my problems don't exceed others, there is someone very close in my heart right now who is just going through absoloute hell, and if my problems would be at the worst just so her problems would get solved, I'd do it in a second.

Gay marriages should be allowed but they shouldn't be allowed to get the pregnancy thing or adobt a child
why? Because you have to think of how that child is going to feel. They will be embarrased that their parents are gay/lesbian and they will be made fun of. This could lead to suicide. We don't want that do we? My cousins mom is lesbian and she is soo embarrassed by that. Her mom was straight before and then she turned gay.

I have to agree with you Emma. Gay marriage is not very accepted in this country and is often made fun of, until gay marriage is better accepted and more people are accepting of it, adoption should not be allowed in a gay marriage.

Emma, there are plenty of children raised in same sex households who are not embarrassed of their parents, their family, or how they were raised. Just because your cousin is embarrassed or the thought makes you uncomfortable doesn't mean that there aren't plenty of children who are happy to be raised that way.

I'm agreeing with Liz here too, the kids may be fine with it. But like I said, I hate to see people being teased at all, and for something so stupid as the fact that you have same sex parents, it's just pathetic. People need to learn to be more accepting of all situations. Like at my friend's school they have a lesbian girl and she's often made fun of. I've met the girl, and she's really nice. It's just horrible how cruel people can be like that.

Not just my cousin. People make fun of gays ALL the time. I know some people won't care but other kids will. And preventing adoption in gay families is also preventing suicide and things like Virginia Tech. My friend is Bi and she is always made fun off. She really doesn't care though. Others do.
