Why Do You Enter Contests?

There are many reasons why 'Looters enter contests. Some of them, like Monica, enter for their shot at fame in contests such as Major Model Management's Model Search.

There are also some 'Looters who enter contests to win prizes to give to their friends or family. Of course, we have 'Looters who want to win prizes for themselves!

Why do you enter SugarLoot contests? Is it to meet new people? Become famous? Win some of the coolest prizes out there? Let us know below.

Winning Tactics

Congratulations to Anabell for winning Hottest Girl.

It's time to talk about winning tactics. What is your strategy in entering SugarLoot contests? Do you think it is easier to win a contest by entering right when the contest is announced and campaigning for votes? Or, are you the type of 'Looter to enter a contest later and not give downvoters enough time to give you 1's?

Discuss below!

In our last CandyGram, we asked what you would rather do on a hot summer day and here are your answers.

53% of you would hit the pool.

10% of you want to sit by the air conditioner.

8% of you would pull out the Frisbee.

29% of you would have a water balloon fight.

How else are you guys beating the heat this summer? Discuss below.

Daily 10 Comments

Here was a comment I received from Danielle:

"I hope I'm not the only person who notices this. I have looked at the last 3 contests I've entered and there are less and less personal comments. This is the majority of the comments: 'Voted 10. Return the favor.'

Some will say good entry, but you know they don't mean it because they probably just copy and pasted that on 20 other entries..."

How do you guys feel about impersonal daily 10 comments? Do you think people are telling the truth when they just copy/paste a daily 10 comment? Do you use the same daily 10 comment again and again when you give fans your dailies? How do you feel when someone says they feel daily 10 comments are impersonal?
For those of you who hate cheaters, don't worry. We got your back. Our CIA-trained staff adjusted the voting system that makes cheaters wish they used their computer skills for good. So have no fear, 'Looters. Go get those honest votes that you so deserve.

How Nugz and I Will End Up In Jail

Hey all. I'm Dev, a friend of Nugz and also part of the SugarLoot crew.

It's interesting to hear how folks ask for votes, but ultimately don't know if people are following through or if they're doing nothing - or worse, downvoting. In fact, it reminds me of what they call the "Prisoner's Dilemma". Let me explain:

Suppose Nugz and I were driving together, and we wrecked someone's bumper while trying to parallel park. (It happens.) Somehow the cops can't prove that we were responsible, but they can get us both for some minor charge - maybe a parking violation. So what they do next: they put us in separate rooms and make us each an offer - if we confess, the other person takes the full blame, and they drop our own minor charges.

If Nugz and I stay quiet, we both only get the minor charges. Maybe that's a $50 fine.

If Nugz talks but I stay quiet, then she goes free while I pay for all of the damages. (Maybe $1000!)

But the reverse is also possible. Maybe I should be the one who talks.

But if we both talk, we both share the trouble, and we each end up paying $500.

So you see, we're both tempted to be lame and do what seems best for us - lie to the other person and hope to get away with it. (Maybe I'm downvoting instead of giving daily 10s.) But if everyone does that, then we all end up losing. In fact, it's better to try to play "nice", since that ends up better for everyone.

In other words: stop the downvoting!
