YOUR SCOOP FOR THE LOOT

SUGARLOOT FEELS PRETTY... ODD
Emelie

Panic at the Disco and SugarLoot want to see your odd side, or your pretty side, or even your pretty odd side. Hence our newest contest, Panic at the Disco's Pretty Odd Contest. Enter a photo of yourself that you find pretty odd for a chance to win a trip to Los Angeles plus tickets for two to see the band at the Theater at the Honda Center. PATD is headlining the Honda Civic tour, which is looking to be the best summer concert tour this year.

Pretty. Odd. is the latest album from PATD which has already been receiving rave reviews. Rolling Stone even compared Pretty. Odd. to Sgt. Pepper "if the Beatles lived to wear guyliner..." Who knew that a band once deemed "emo" (and who stirred controversy by simply removing one punctuation mark from their name) would release an album that is on its way to becoming a classic!

We're leaving the definition of "pretty.odd" up to the die-hard PATD fans, like Emelie, and we know there are quite a few of you. That is why we are giving away a PATD t-shirt and copies of Pretty. Odd. to three runners-up. That's Pretty. Cool.

SIMPLE PLAN BACK FOR MORE

Jesse

Simple Plan, one of our favorite Canadian exports besides the word "aboot," was so impressed with the creativity you put forth in the Meez contest, they are back for more. They want to squeeze out even more of your creative juices in Simple Plan's Best Black and White Photo.

After all, everything looks better in black and white. For example, if Jesse's entry (above) looks like it belongs in some swank art gallery.

We're giving away an iPod Nano, an autographed copy of Simple Plan's latest album, plus the band will give you a personalized video shout out congratulating you on your knack for the lens.

LOOTERS CONTINUE TO ROCK OUT
Tyna

SXSW came and went. The Coachella Music Festival is coming up and Bonnaroo is already gaining some buzz. Basically, Spring is here and it's a good time to rock out, especially with the influx of band-sponsored contests mentioned in the Buzz. We're ready to get you pumped by checking in with the winners of Freezepop's Most Rockin' Pose.

Deric and Tyna came in second and third place respectively and their Freezepop prizes recently arrived. Derec can't get enough of "Ninja of Love" while Tyna loves "Less Talk More Rokk" because she is a pro at playing it on Guitar Hero II.

We're not going to lie. Freezepop's beats can cause you to stare blankly with your mouth gaping open for a long time. Still, Tyna and Derec find time to break away from their trances to hang out on the 'Loot.

"What I love about SugarLoot is that you get to interact with lots of other amazing people while you get to show off your photos in contests, too. I've met so many amazing, friendly people here," Tyna states.

Deric loves interacting with other members, too. "I love talking to all the other 'Looters cause it's just so neat to be able to chat up with people who are soo far away!!"

SYMPATHY VOTES- FAIR OR UNFAIR?

Well, violins have been playing overtime for entrants who have entered Most Prized Possession. If you check out some of the entries, you will notice that many people have been playing the sympathy card to get votes. Some people have entered pics of their kids or loved ones, saying they are suffering from a rare disease that can only be cured by winning a contest on SugarLoot. Other entrants, like Ariana Page, have entered items that they cannot live without but may not have that much emotional value. (We doubt Pinkberry ever saved her from a burning building, despite the newest coffee flavor being quite delicious.)

So, we want to know: Do you think it's fair to use the sympathy factor in getting votes? Would you vote for someone who entered a contest with an entry that brings you to tears? Head over to the blog and speak your minds.
