YOUR SCOOP FOR THE LOOT

DRILLBIT TAYLOR GETS UNDER SUGARLOOT'S WING
Geek Splash

Attention underdogs, nerds, and anyone that resembles Milhouse from The Simpsons. We've got a contest to show off that charm, intelligence, and perhaps your pair of spectacles. Drillbit Taylor is pumping you up to be proud of your nerd-dom. In fact, the stars even have a special video message just for you. The hottest new movie starring Owen Wilson is here to sponsor our latest contest, Coolest Geek. Upload a photo of you at your cast party for Anything Goes, collecting your Radiohead bumper stickers, or at your Fantasy Football fan club for a chance to win some hot electronics marketed by the master of geeks himself, Steve Jobs. (For you pseudo-nerds out there, the winner will receive a MacBook Air and an iPod Touch.)

Don't wait until you earned your PhD from Harvard or invented some type of electronic carpet cleaner. The time is now to be successful. Frankly, Poindexter, nerds are IN. There has been an influx of cool nerds like Michael Cera, Tina Fey, and we're quite positive Javier Bardem's character from No Country for Old Men had some nose-bleeding issues during his formidable years.

Yes, keep on collecting your Star Wars paraphernalia (we'll forgive you for the Episode III Padme doll) because you are A-List, the creme de la creme, the pinnacle of all that is socially awesome. It's now time to profit on your hobbies, your (lack of) style, and your overall attitude. Live long and prosper and don't forget to enter DrillBit Taylor's Coolest Geek contest. HATS TIP OFF TO SUGARLOOT

xtraliciousssx

As you can tell by xtraliciousssx's deliciousssssx choice in headgear, she's not going to get a little hat hair get in the way of trying to win our Best Look in a Hat contest. We'll forgive her for her fashion faux pas (ladies' brimmed hats are to be worn only during the summer months, duh!), but she looks so darn cute, as if she could be on Little House on the Prairie or something.

The title of the contest speaks for itself. We're looking for the person who can pull off that skull cap, fedora, or sombrero the best. Since not everyone can pull off wearing a hat (some of us were born with heads entirely too small for our body) the winner of this contest can capitalize on their great hat-wearing genes. We're giving away a $300 gift certificate to Hats.com so our winner can purchase some new (gasp-- this is exciting--) hats. Who knew?

LOOTER IS GIVING NOT ONLY IN WINTER
Thanhy

Our past winner, Thanhy, was all about the bunny ears, but she didn't win Cutest Pet. She was our winner for Best Peace Sign which earned her an iPod Nano.

Thanhy's passion for peace doesn't stop with her entry. She tries to be the best person she can be everyday. In fact, she's giving her iPod Nano to her best friend while she hangs out with her during her Easter break. (We hope her friend isn't reading this newsletter right now because we totally just spoiled the surprise.)

Thanhy is quickly becoming everyone's favorite friend on SugarLoot. "The people are so nice here. I think maybe soon I will have to visit them in person. I mean, they are like my best friends. And the prizes and contests are so awesome. It makes this website so fun." Overall, Thanhy loves the prizes and the people. "I called it p&p. Haha." Wow, we wonder if Gandhi ever used alliterative abbreviations.

The SugarLoot Bulletin
LOOTERS HAVE PROFILE-ZINES

A few issues ago, we published an article about Looters using their profile spaces to publish their novels. Well, now a new literary phenomenon has hit the profile pages of the Loot. In the past few weeks we've seen a number of profile-magazines rise to surface. The SugarLoot Bulletin was started by a Looter for fans to chat, gossip, and discuss all things SugarLoot and non-SugarLoot. The SugarLoot Variety (the Bulletin's sister site) is a profile where Looters can submit stories, monologues, poems, or artwork. Another Looter to jump on the magazine bandwagon is Yang. You may remember Yang as the winner of the Best Self-Portrait contest. (She made a picture of herself made entirely out of duct-tape.) Yang turned her profile into a magazine as well, the Voice, where she features stories and trends that she hopes to enlighten 'Looters.

These profile-mags seem to be fun and interactive and will certainly give the staff some great ideas as we work diligently at establishing a new and improved community section for the Looters to hang out. Do you have any ideas on how to make SugarLoot more interactive? Chat rooms? Forums? Head over to the blog and let us know.
