SECOND PHOTOSHOOT

If your name is still on the list, then you are still in!

The next themed photoshoot will be all about you. What are you passionate about? Animals? Swimming? Reading? Dancing? Makeup? Playing Guitar? Singing? Chocolate? Shopping?

The goal of the 2nd photoshoot will be to best display what YOU are passionate about. This will also show to me more about your personalities! So don't be afraid to try something different, because this is what its all about. No simply headshots will do this time! Show me what gets you motivated. Starbucks? Your best friend? The water? Try to be creative with this one!


This photoshoot will be due on June 20th unless changed!u>

Tips & Tricks







So, you've made it! Congrats!







Here are some guidelines and tips. Use them as your fashion bible, and you'll succeed!



D.I.V.A.



Does your pose work with you?
Is the picture a flawless ten?

Visualize,....are you the center of the picture?

Are you a yes, no, or maybe?





Of course, you want your outfit to be a YES. Secondly, is the picture clear? Did you overdose on the editing? Can I see your face? While it is best to see your entire face, certain circumstances apply. Is your makeup how you want it to be portray?

If you want a "natural" look, don't apply more than the necessities. Also, if you want to emphasize your beautiful eyes or hair, don't make it black and white or sepia!




Take chances. Use the cameras functions. Got a self timer? Use it! Flash usually gets the most vibrant pictures. Don't be afraid to take risks! That is what sets apart you from the other models.

Don't use your "pretty look" as a crutch. Sure, you have the look, but use other aspects such as clothes, makeup, background, or pose to make you stand out!






Most of all, be yourself. If you send in a picture where you look uncomfortable, what message does that send?

So, you know me as the person who signs her name "SHEM." While the initials of Sugarloot's Elite Models does not spell out SHEM, the name stuck. So if you wonder, "Who is SHEM?" Well, its the name abbriviated, with an extra amazing touch. Don't feel embarrassed to comment me about anything. I'm here to help you have the best chances to win each competition! While we are on the topic, lets get on towards what I judge on.

[Drumroll Please!]

Critiquing Criteria

Quality. Does it look like your 5 year old cousin took it--blindfolded?
Clarity. Is the picture grainy or blurry? Oh, it better be crytal clear honey!
Subject. Are you in the center...or is your dog Fluffy? Are you getting the point of your picture across..or is it so confusing you need a map?
Originality. Sure, everyone loves to throw a Tyra pose in here and there, but if you completely COPY another famous models' pose or picture...don't think you are getting praise unless that was the photoshoot assignment!
Appeal. Would it appeal to your target audience? Not just your BFF counts! Look to please a range of ages. To Clarify: If your grandma or your cousin who is 9 looked at the picture, would they approve or freak out?
