The Elite-Chapter One up's Profile
The Elite
Who is the author of this book?
My name is Hayden. I've been brainstorming for a long while now and I decided I wanted to give this whole writing thing a try. You can also add my site HERE! :)
What's the name of your book?
It's called "The Elite." (:
What was your inspiration for this?
I really really love the Gossip Girl and Clique series because I honestly think all the drama is hilarious. But I wanted to read something that related to me a little bit more, and make the characters younger than in GG but older than the Clique. So I decided to write(:
Any other inspiration?
A lot of it is based off experiences my friends and I have had, but WAY more exaggerated. my friends and I are also the basis for my characters.
Is this going to be published?
No, probably not. This is actually just kind of a test run to see how well my idea/book is liked, and depending on the success or failure (hopefully not failure!) of this, I might keep it going.
Do you need site models?
YESS! Please, I would LOVE it (:

Chapter 1:
Starr Bancroft slammed the door to her locker and strutted down the empty hallway, knowing how good she looked but a little disappointed nobody was around to see it. That was the problem with skipping class, even on the last day of school. Her espadrilles slapped against the imported-straight-from-Europe marble floor and she headed out into the school lobby, growing more impatient by the minute. She chose a comfy looking lounge to sit on, and waited. RRRRIIIINNNGG! Starr stood up and looked around, as the halls of Malibu Preparatory Academy filled with cheering students, excited at the prospect of summer. She reached inside her green Prada alligator bag and pulled out her Sidekick, pretending to be absorbed in a really important text message while she waited for her lazy friends. Eventually, she heard the familiar click of heels on the floor, and Starr looked up to see one of her best friends, Alexis Kaiser, walking towards her. Starr grinned. “Caution, High Alert!” she yelled, half-laughing, “We have a 10-point-0 on the hotness scale, watch out, she could spontaneously combust at any moment!” Alexis threw her head back and laughed, almost falling backwards over her 3 inch heels. “Thanks girl, you look amazing too.” The girls joked around and gossiped as they waited for the third member of their exclusive clique, Maddie Jarrett. A group of rowdy junior guys passed by, and Starr and Alexis received a round of wolf whistles. “Hey Kaiser, call me this summer!” one of them called. Alexis winked at him and wiggled her ring covered fingers in their direction. Starr turned to look at Alexis. “Where is everyone?” She wrinkled her nose, frowning. Alexis laughed. Starr could always pull off adorable faces like that. She pushed open one of the front doors to the school and stepped outside, squinting in the sunlight. “Britt and Maddie didn’t feel like going to Cardinals,” Alexis answered, referring to what everyone at Malibu Prep called homeroom. “So they skipped. They were supposed to pick us up like, 5 minutes ago.” All of the sudden, a black range rover blasting Britney Spears rolled up, and a blonde head popped out of the sunroof. “Get in losers, WE’RE GOING SHOPPING!” Britt Scoville yelled, and disappeared. Alexis flipped on her Ray Bans and stepped carefully down the stairs, in her high heels. “Race you!” Starr cried, giving Alexis a small shove. She laughed and took off down the steps toward the car. She too disappeared inside it. Finally, Alexis caught up and climbed inside, the look of the devil on her face. “Are you trying to kill me?” She asked, giving as much attitude as she could. She shot Starr a dirty look, and the car grew silent. Starr opened her mouth to apologize when Alexis burst out laughing, and the noise level in the car rose again. Starr reached leaned over next to a mini fridge in the corner, opened it and pulled out a Coke. She loved Britt’s car, and the way it was designed to have two rows of seats facing each other. “Hey Dex,” Britt called up to the front, “We can go now.” The car began to move, and Britt quickly instructed Dex where to go and filled him in on the details of their excursion. “Eeek, you guys!” Maddie squealed. “It’s finally summer! I’m so excited; this is going to be awesome.” The freckly red-head began rattling off a long list of summertime activities. “And we’re starting off with this awesome fashion show tonight, you guys.” Britt chimed in. “It’s by Helayne Elliot, I think?” “That’s Skylar’s mom.” Maddie said quietly. The car became silent again. “And you know what else I just realized? Today is June 12th.” “I can’t believe it has been 3 years.” Alexis mumbled. “You guys,” Starr said anxiously, “Let’s not let this ruin our night or our summer. Skylar knew how much we cared about her. It’s fine.” She smiled her best fake smile and fell silent. The girls eventually started talking again and laughing, but the atmosphere in the car was still a little strained, the girl’s darkest secret hanging over their heads, and the fear that Sklyar would return and blow it all.
